Superloop by night

Promo: Super(not)loops and the new Superloops

A discussion came about and I decided I'd edit the map.

More dawnting than it appeared.

Fictional: Bromley North with Superloop

and also fusing 354 with 138 so I reuse the very light blue color of SL5. Which has the byproduct of making two stand spaces at Bromley North.

It's been a while since I edited maps for fun, even if it's probably my 420th so far, still a passion of mine.

Fictional: Croydon, Night. Fantasy map.

If the network was slightly revised, a fantasy.

Fictional: A different Edmonton Green, a cooler reality?

Croydon town centre in 2022

Fictional: The 415 to Crystal Palace (not via 432)

The 160's reroute via Sandhurst Road and 284's extension to Grove Park done to address 124's crowding and unreliability problems.

In short:

Instead of fusing 415 with 432, merge 415 with 322 (kinda).

In long:

The reason for my above illustration is simply dwelling on the fact 124 was so crowded and troubled it required a successive amount of changes. The 450 had the same (going from every 20 to every 8 in the span of 16 so years). You'd be a little harder stretched to find a route that was restructured with a frequency decrease, then return to it's frequency and still be terrible.

The P13 was fixed and went through that, the 322 seemingly was fixed, but time has told us that was a thin ice that broke.

Fictional: Crystal Palace Alternate Reality

West Dulwich: Completed puzzle piece.

By Twitter lingo it'd be "Here, I fixed it for you." Though to me it's my own question as to why it's never been present, perhaps the mess of a Hail & Ride it has...

A map that has bothered me ever since I've seen it from a young age, one that omits the 322.

"Martell Road" stops for 322 is in the road map in the centre, as well as the roads it serves under Hail & Ride; Rosendale Road; Tritton Road; Vale Street; St Gothard Road; St Cloud Road; St Gothard Road.

From memory there aren't other examples as this, not that I've found, putting aside the notion of express routes that don't have stops in the area.

I couldn't manage to stay true to the 10/2009 date of the map and edit some of P13: Removing the unusual New Cross-bound Besson Street section which is now direct via Queens Road instead. Then, Crystal Palace Tavern and simply "Dulwich Park" as well as randomly adding in Night Tube symbols and Overground symbols ahead of the South London Line resurrection's extension.

Postscript note: Noticed the lack of "Morval Road" after 'Brixton Water Lane' nor the following "St Matthew's Estate" nor the following "Lambeth Town Hall" for 3/N3, then again in an update of this 2009 map I wish I had, omitted "Croxted Close" so...

Interworking routes - taken to the next level

If you apply the Level 1 noob, Level 50 crook and Level 100 meme, you'll get something like this:

Level 1: Interwork route A and route B

Level 50: Interwork an entire mode with another mode

Level 100: Take level 1 to it's theoretical limit

Previously, Interworked iBus-display-ETM Though today I've delved into a similar topic, by explaining my madness in the image you've just seen in better detail, Interworked routes.

Fictional: A daily X68/SL6 that stops at Brixton and Elephant & Castle

A thought arisen from reading a suggestion on the bus forum.

Having X68 (SL6 from 31 July) stop at Brixton and Elephant & Castle. Perhaps also Kennington but I'd call into question 415's existence so for that purpose, I omitted that.

Besides, I have an idea to make extra use of 415's deckers by changing up my nemesis 322:

Fictional: M25 median railway

Promo for: M25 median railway

I was going to make a CG render of the above but I gave up the idea

Every express route in London; past and present

At least ones which I can find, be it timetables and maps. I've tried my best in the months I've taken to form posts around it, draw multiple maps of which are mostly in my posts, draw out new ideas, and finishing it off with history.

Final promo for Expressa and Final promo for Expressa 2

Oh and the spreadsheet which won't make much sense without exposition through the posts.

An accurate depiction of London and dubious depiction of commercial ones - express and limited stop routes nonetheless.

Safe to say I'll take a break from maps after this.

Disclaimer: The word 'every' was used but it's a vast misrepresentation if we include the likes of National Express A-routes and whatnot, but that questions the line of bus and coach which I've no doubt blurred as I drew the map out.

Streatham High Road 1962 map (before Victoria Line)

Promo: Streatham High Road 1912-2022

After two years of drawing board I've finally completed this project.

1912 1942 1952 1962 1972 1982 1992 2002 2012 2023 all documented in map form.

Spreadsheet form for year-by-year detail where there is data (1934-2023).

Another day another burst water main, another diversion

Some diversions chosen for routes go through the effort of adding many miles just to avoid 1-2 stops.

In the case of R68/R70, a restructure of terminus on both routes.

In the case of 3 normally and 322 the past two weeks, this monstrosity.

Every journey matters... walk or get an Uber.

Fictional: X239ising

If you can understand without an explanation, props to you.

Though I've drove my idea spark into fatal flaw testing with little fixing, but I've had fun writing.

Promo for Expressa 3

Fictional: ˣ59: Central London to Central Croydon, express

An every 8 minute service would require a PVR of 19 roughly, which can easily be sourced from trimming only the peak frequencies of 133, 159 and 250, and reducing it a notch for 59 and 109.

Speed at the cost of frequency for stops not served.

I like drawing out stuff so decided to copy the old style of maps for individual routes.

Fictional: 'Making 45 great again'

Fictional: Rather than cutting 101 short...

If you have seen the new consultation but you didn't have a negative comment about it, fair play I guess.

Though the breakdown is leaving 366 to rot isn't the wisest gamer move, even if to fund the extension of 325...

So what I do is replace 325's handy extension (hmm) but spruce it up whilst murdering 101's entirety to fuse with an unborn 304.

Fictional: 312 proposals, 2011 (with spice) vs 2020

Lockdown drawings as I read the Croydon bus study , and compared the two 312 proposals side by side...

...with an idea of mine inspired by the 197/410 swap to allow 197 to serve South Norwood Clock Tower.

And the idea of 312 extended to Crystal Palace. There are interesting suggestions, to ring around Crystal Palace's stand issue. Worth noting 363 to Norwood Junction is a no-go for costs in comparison.

Something for me to pass the time, irrespective of whether the former could ever be a reality.

The 414 getting cut to Marble Arch... (in November 2021)

As usual I take ideas from others that intrigue me, put it on a canvas and flip out the calculator.

Goal being '8 bph is sufficient from Edgware Road' which can be achieved through many ways, just like preparing food. Never waste it. Insert motivational comment.

Fictional: Link the links, 5 missing links.

Utilising the number 48 only as a result of the first version of it using Milkwood Road to link Loughborough Junction and Herne Hill, something only done by Thameslink and your feet if you desire.

So, the links:

Birkbeck to Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace to Camberwell

West Norwood to West Dulwich

(initially didn't regard Dulwich Village)

Camberwell to Old Kent Road, not a big deal perhaps

Camberwell to Bermondsey

Old Kent Road to Surrey Canal Road

I only came up of the idea as a result of reading up on how Crystal Palace doesn't have a direct link to Camberwell, not that hopper doesn't do wonders for that. Just 3 then 68/468, simples.

Some extra note, didn't go with Croxted Road with 201's presence, other than that, I didn't give much thought, whether that's a surprise or not.
